As women take house cleaning seriously, men take grilling seriously. It’s a man thing to want to cook outside and become one with what they can create outside of the kitchen. They have no interest whatsoever when it comes to cooking in the kitchen besides gathering the ingredients for their secret grilling recipes. To take the desire to grill a step further, some men prefer a homemade charcoal grill.
There is something about cooking your special creations on your grill creation. Men like to build, so why not build a homemade barbecue? There are numerous suggested building plans available, complete with the how to instructions.
A homemade charcoal grill can be a little project or a big project that will take a couple weeks of your time to complete to the point of actually being able to cook on it. If you just want to play boy scout for the day, you need nothing more than a cheap coffee can, a match, your charcoal, a screwdriver or hammer to poke holes in the side of the can, and of course the barbecue items of your choice. With a larger project that includes brick or concrete blocks and mortar, store your charcoal in a dry place because the time it takes you to complete the project does not include the time the mortar will need in order to dry as required.
With pride, you will be able to show off your homemade charcoal grill to friends and family. Have a barbecue and invite them all over. Maybe they can BTOM (bring their own meat) and some sort of barbecue utensil as a gift for the builder and cook. As long as the meats, veggies, and other food items are cooked to a set temperature, the barbecue should be a huge success earning you high praises and pats on the back from your closest friends and family members.
Homemade barbecue on a homemade charcoal grill, does it get any better than that? I suppose it could get a little better if you had your wife throw in some desserts made from scratch, it couldn’t hurt to ask her.
